Todays Project
Well todays project was a heating pad. I picked up this flannel on sale last week with this project in mind. Since my neck and shoulders are always killing me I thought this would come in handy. I also wanted to make an insert and a cover so that I could take it off to wash it if needed, or make another one if I get bored with this fabric. I think it turned out pretty well.
The picture above shows the insert I made. Nothing fancy, just a big rectangle sewn on 3 sides, filled, then the 4th side turned in and sewn.
This next picture shows the opening. I didn't feel like bothering with a zipper so I just made a flap, kinda like on pillow shams.
This is the final product with Nathan as a model. I tried to take a picture of me with it but failed miserably! Thankfully my little model was quite cooperative and gave me permission to use him. I added handles on it thinking they would be handy (no pun intended). Haven't used it yet but judging how my shoulders feel I will need it soon!
