Lovely! What lens are you using for your camera. I have the stock lens right now, which is fine for P&S, I tried 70-300mm that I hated, too much zoom, but not enough macro focus plus it felt kind of clicky and grindy when using, not good, and I now have a 70-250mm on the way to try. Any guidance would be really appreciated!

Funny enough that was taken with my new fancy p&s!! I guess you really do get what you pay for. Besides fitting in your pocket and having a 12x zoom it also takes fabulous micro shots!

For my Nikon I have the 70-300mm lens which I only use for the telephoto. Otherwise the lens is just too big for everyday use and zooms too much just like you said. It really doesn't get much use because how often are you that far away? When Brian bought this camera he got the package deal so it came with 3 lenses. I think the other is a 50mm which if I'm remembering correctly replicates what your eye sees. I have never used it and it's still in the box.

The 3rd lens is the one I usually use. It's a 18-55mm lens. It's perfect for everyday use. I also like that it goes quite wide (18mm) if you want to do wide angle shots. It's even good for macro except that the minimum focus distance is too much sometimes which is why I want a true macro lens. If you could only buy one lens this is what I would say to get (or something similar). It's the most versatile and with the camera being 10MP you have quite a lot of room to crop without distorting your picture so I typically will crop down to where I want it to be if I can't get the shot close enough.

Hope this helps!

That helps a ton, the stock lens is the 18-55 lens, and that has been pretty good so far, though I want some more zoom, but not too much so we shall see about this next one I am trying. I do feel a macro lens in my future, but they are so pricey for basically a single purpose lens! Maybe for Christmas I can whine for one :)

That's when I plan to whine for one too! I have been the past couple Christmas' but Brian can't get over the price sometimes :) Eventually I'll bug him enough or buy one myself!
