Lately it has been a bit slow in the crafting department since we were in the process of moving and I was a nomad for a month. Before we moved I did manage to knit myself a ribbed hat, nothing fancy, but I liked the way it turned out. I will be making a matching scarf in the near future but figure I still have a few months. One thing about this hat was that I knitted it on circular needles which was a first. All the other hats I have knit flat and then have sewn them up. I think from now on I will be knitting hats on circular needles because aside from the first 3 rows it seemed a bit easier and you don't have to sew it up at the end. Once I dig up a picture of it I will post.

I did a bit of scrapbooking while I was a nomad. Doesn't seem like a big deal but I was very excited to get 7 or 8 pages done!

Just in the past week I have jumped back in to the realm of crafting, I was really starting to get the itch. A few days ago I did a project that will have to remain secret for now since it is a gift and the recipient is a reader of this blog. I will tell you that I am very pleased with the outcome and have a picture ready to post when the time comes. Also worth noting is that I have started knitting a sweater for my son. I am using a pattern from Lion Brand for which I will post the link when I get around to posting the picture. I am a very slow knitter so I wanted to give myself plenty of time to get it finished before it gets cold. I currently have 7 rows finished, woohoo! I will get a bit more done before I take a picture so you can actually get an idea of how it will look. Aside from an infant sundress I have really only knit hats, wrist cuffs, and belts so this should be interesting.

I also need to break my sewing machine out soon because I am sprucing up a pair of black curtains I have for my son's room. Right now they are the type that need those clips but I am going to cut the pleats off the top and sew a pocket for the curtain rod. I will also shorten them and embellish them with a pirate them. I also have fabric to make a pirate quilt to go with them. Actually I have had the fabric for a while and even have it all cut, it just needs to be sewn into a quilt. I figure I can make a couple quilts with matching (or coordinating) curtains and that will be the decor for his room making it very easy to switch out when I get tired of one. Well off to bed since I happen to have a rooster for a son but I am going to try and post more frequently on here since this tends to get neglected.
